I mentioned the mission statement of the World Economic Forum in a former post about the history of this event. It is “Committed to Improving the State of the World” and the “Schwaab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship” shows that this commitment is actively approached by Klaus Schwaab and his wife Hilde Schwaab. today I want to present Athos, a venture-backed Start Up which developed a system to track your exercise data. Compared to Nike+ or other similar sports tracking apps you have the possibility to get detailed data to every muscles group. This is possible because of the 100 % machine-washable technical gym clothes. The clothes include sensors which monitor the individual muscle activity. MicroPro, a company from Ireland, developed a Touchscreen personal computer which is supposed to fabricate 70 percent less carbon dioxid as an usual and comparable personal computer. These numbers are calculated throughout the whole life cycle, beginning with the reduction over the using phase until the recycling process. Moreover they mention that 78 percent of the materials are recyclable and an additional part of 20 percent are even reusable for repairing other computers. Continue reading
Today I found the interesting invention called Clever Caps which was made by the company Cleverpack. The first way to use the Clever Caps is as a bottlecap but instead of throwing the bottlecap away or recycling it you can directly use it as a legobrick because the bottlecaps are designed in a way that they fit the sizes of the usual legobricks. If Santa runs out of time with his presents for christmas time the next years this logistical innovation of Amazon might help him!
our electronic devices seem to be out of battery so fast and especially when we are travelling we have problems to recharge! I once had the problem that both my camcorder and my phone had empty batteries and I missed a great shot in Australia. If I had the following backpack I would have been able to make a picture of the “mass boxing event” of at least 10 kangaroos! Continue reading
